I have 96 Eclipse rs 2.0 non turbo automatic. I just purchased it from someone who didnt take very good care of it.

I start the car and it idles fine but after about 10-15 mins its starts to bog down below 1000 rpm and acts like its gonna turn off but it doesnt then back to normal. While I'm driving it after about 30 mins when the car is warm it shuts off completely on me. the RPM Gauge jumps then goes to zero, all the lights inside come on and the engine shuts off... I try to start it again and sometimes it starts right back up and other times it wont start for a while. This last time it happened it wont start at all.

what could be the problem? is it electrical?
