Default hot then cold

I have a 95 gs the last time that i drove it the tempeture keep going up and down prety quickly too i might add.Fortunatly i was close to home and was able to shut it down before too much damage was done. Could this be a worn out water pump bad therostat both??? I got this car in the summer and found out the hard way that the heater bolws out cold air as well. Any help would be greatly help me out thanks in advance.

hmm well if its not far i would take it sumwhere to get the codes read...or better find sum1 with a scanner and have them come and do it for u

well it sounds like a thermostat to me. or the connection to the t-stat

i agree but i always take the cautious side of things, if u r mechanically inclinedi would check theconnections to the t stat and the cooling temp sensor as well

On my last car the temp on it when up and down and I didn't know why it was doing that. Took it to the shop, and it was the thermostat. Granted it wasn't an Eclipse, but it most likely is the thermostat.

Thank you all for your help. I have an obd 1/2 would that hook up to my car and where is the hook up at???

is your check engine light on. Cuz if not, then its pointless to scan it cuz it wont come up with anything

No the check engine light never came on, but if it did would an OBD 1&2 read the codes?

If the check engine light came on then you would be able to scan it and see what is wrong with it.
