My friend and i were cleaning my throttle body, cleaned it with degreaser, some got into the intake manifold. I started the car and it blew smoke and crap out the exhaust. then it idled at like 4 rpms. after that it started idle surging and the check engine light came on. I need help It starts up and idles at 4 rpms. After that it will drop to 1 rpm raise to like 4 rpms and continue to do that. Help PLEASE

 

Did the car burp? Like back fire through the intake? Tip next time use products that are named after parts your working on.......carb/throttle body cleaner.

 

no didn't "burp" i mean it shoot tons out of the exhaust, now the only problem im having is idle surges 1.5-3 rpms back and forth back and forth. Thats the only problem now.

 

What year is the car? This prob wont work but disconnect the battery to rest the ECU. Maybe how ever it was burning that **** sent the O2's crazy. There isnt much to break beside the any sensors on the plenum its self. You said it didnt burp so they should be fine. Take it out and beat it, when I was at toyota we would run decarb through the older cars. It was this strong cleaner that you would put in a IV-bag and hook it to a vaccum line and let it idle and take it all in. The car would SMOKE like crazy and would start to have a surging idle, but after the beat run it was gone. Sorry I cant help that much.

 

i wouldsay pullit off and clean it once more with carb/throttle then stick it back onand go from there

 

Still having probs, i turn the car on it runs high now 4-5 rpms. Doesn't sound good at all. Constantly reving up high. Then after 30 seconds of that. It drops to 1.5 and revs to 2.5 and drops and keeps doing that. Could i of blown my tps?

 

Its a 95 rs non turbo,Honestly i said i didn't "burp" it may have i don't know. Its acting insane right now. Starts up at 4rpms..then does that wierd crap were it revs up to 2.5 and drops to 1.5 and does that over and over and over again. the check engine light does come on...buti can't get the car newhere to get it checked for awhile .
