Dude... 2010, & the dealer won't help??? I think I'd write to Mitsubishi Customer Relations. Tell them, "Really??? I bought a brand new car from you guys, & your dealers won't fix it when there is a problem, less than 2 years after buying the car?" This should still be under warrentee. "If you're not going to honor your warrentee, then I want my money back!" I'm willing to bet that they'll put a little fire under the butts of your local dealers to make sure that it's fixed to your satisfaction.
My guess on this, based on what you're saying, is that it sounds like a failed fuel pump, or could be the wiring going to it. But obviously have a mechanic verify this before having it replaced. But again, this should be covered under your cars warrenty. So don't let them take advantage of you.

Angry I am having a similar problem

I have an 11 Outlander that I just bought in November. For the past six to eight weeks a couple times a week it does not want to start on the first try. It sounds like it is going to start but then it won't. It's not the battery. Recently, even on the second attempt it almost doesn't start then it sputters and then it will start. It has been a struggle to get the dealership to even look at it. They said until it breaks down there is nothing we can do. They said that it is probably the gas since in the winter time the ethenol is higher. That doesn't make sense, since I have NEVER had this problem with any other car I have had or know of anyone that has had this problem. Especially since it is brand new. It is very scary since I work an hour away from home.

Have you figured out the issue with your car yet? I am taking my car in this Saturday. They are reluctantly hooking it up to the computer to see if they get a code.

Someone replied to my post and said that it might be the FOB battery is low or other keys on your keyring are blocking the fob signal. It couldn't hurt to give it a try.
