sup peoples i am new to the whole car mod thing so i will be needing help like crazy, i have an 04 galant and i installed a indash dvd but now the display at the the top is sayin ECOM[:@], is there any1 with this problem???

 

in dash dvd... mind narrowing it down a bit? did it come with the brain? was it new when you got it?

 

yeah it has the brain and everything its one of those screens that pop out and yes it was new. Thing is on new yrs i got messed up and i somehow managed to break the screen off (people said i didnt want to wait for it to come out[:@]) anyways i put my stock head unit in for now but the srs light came on again [:@].. i have a new indash dvd to install but i am really not feeling like dealing with this crap is there like an adapter i need to do that? or even if i want to install a kenwood cd player will i have the same problem?.. its gotten to the point that i dont even want to do any mods to my sound system because of this..

 

well you description is prerry vague... is this an IN DASH unit or a FLIP OUT unit? if it's a flip out unit and you ripped the screen off than you will need a whole new head. if you have a waranty than you can send it in. if not, check on ebay or call the company.

 

ok here is the problem leave out the dvd player part... when installinga offmarket head unit it conflicts with the stock display its say ecom because that is made for the stock unit i was wondering if there is an adapter so the computer from my car dont bug out and cause the srs light to come on and all that crap

yeah i think its out of ur hands lol jk... i took my car to the dealer and told them my srs light came on and they ran a test and said its my head unit and they cant fix it unless i pay $82

 

in my eclipse i had a stock infinity system when i got it replaced they had to rewire the amp so maybe this could be the problem ur having
do u have any experience with stereo stuff?

 

none of that happened with me... i have a 99gs. i took my stock one out, put a new one in with 2 amps for my component system and subs and no hitches what'so'ever. i guess that's whyi was confused.
