Default timing belt replacement

As a new member I am now at 70K on my 2001 gallant es and was wondering how soon in the future should I replace the timing belt. My dealer has stated it should be done soon due to it being a interference engine and the belt breaking could cause extensive engine damage. One pereson I know went nearly 100K before this service was done. Thanks Timman49

Default RE: timing belt replacement

it is recommended to be done every 60k it can make it 100k but not a good idea. A head rebuild is very expensive if you can work on it yourself
