i just need to know what kind of turbo is on the eclipse 99 gst...i think it's a t2...also what kind of upgrades should i add to the car before upgrading to a t3 (if thats the case) i already have a new exhaust and intake and im going to get a new blow off valve soon. I'm also looking into an mbc and a turbo timer.

 

The stock turbo is a T25 (peice of crap basically) but next couple of mods would be a MBC and a boost guage. Then from there you could go with hard piping. But really it depends on your plans. If you really want to upgrade the turbo then do some research because there is alot involved when getting into that. You will spend at least 1-1.5k to do a small upgrade

 

You dont actually need that many upgrades to upgrade the turbo. If you want to run a lot of boost thats where the mods become a must.

My advice to you would be to get a boost guage, boost controller (@17psi)and a 16g turbo or a BIG T28 turbo.Should be a nice kick : )

 

and a FMIC and fuel pump at least. 17PSI is kind of alotto ask of the stock fuel out of a 16G or T28 turbo IMO. I wouldntdo it I dont care who says its ok you have got to be causeing knock and detination esecially on warm days (not that it is warm this time of year but still)

 

I ran 19psi on the GST with the T28killer with just a 255lph fuel pump... never had a problem.

 

re read what you just said. you had a fuel pump gee wiz i wonder why you never had a problem. I did just say I wouldnt turn up the boost without fuel pump in the post before. with stock fuel turn it to 19 and your knocking. actually you may even be knocking slightly with only a pump. you dont always know when you detinating and knocking alot of people dont even know

 

Dont you typically see shiney specs of aluminum on your spark plugs?
