the down pipe will give u hp but the stock cat will still restrict it a bit..............my advice buy a turbo back system that has a hi-flow cat so u can pass emmissions.........

Alright, thanks guys. I think i am just going to buy the downpipe and just replace the cat for the emissions. Thats a good idea. Thanks guys. but then again, if i do buy the downpipe that replaces the cat, then I would need to replace the entire stock downpipe and the cat, right?

Yeah, you will. But most aftermarket downpipes are the length of the OEM downpipe and cat, so no worries

I think what his concern was putting it all back for emmissions. Yes you will have to put the stock downpipe back on as well i think. Once again depending on what type of downpipe you get

damn emissions.

I wouldn't be suprised in Cali everyone who's upgraded their car has all the stock parts and spends a week before smog day putting all the stock parts back on and then a week after that putting all the upgraded parts back on.

It took me 3 smog check points until i found someone who would smog my car. Just because of my BOV!! b*st*rds

If I buy the downpipe that replaces the cat, would that allow the "Check Engine" light to come on? Is it going to come on?

While we are on the exhaust subject, I have a question....I recently bought a whole 3 inch Apexi system from my friend off his GS-T..it has less than 15,000 miles on it and is stainless..It didn't have a cat or a bolt-on test pipe from the down pipe, just straight pipe..I haven't installed it yet because there is no cat..My state and my area, Pennsylvania, requires the emissions stuff be visible but we don't have to have it hooked up and tested...only in some regions of PA...I have a 3 inch high-flow cat and was wondering if it was a good idea to have a section of my exhaust cut away and have my cat welded in and if it has to be installed on the car to do this...what do you guys think?

Hey guys, do I need to have a downpipe in order to put in a 16G turbo? Can I just have a 3" catback exhaust system on my car? I have a Greddy Evo2 catback exhaust.
