Well, I reset the ECU. Now my dumb *** can't get the intake back on. lol This guy cut some hose, painted it blue, and stuck it on...maybe I should've thought of that before I took it off. He probably barely got it on himself.

The valve with the arrow pointing to it...is that what I would cover with a breather filter?

So what happens if I just run it without getting this filter back on? What will my mpg be then? lol

OK, I got this ghetto *** thing put back on, but it is definitely not air tight from the filter to the blue hose. Is this gonna cause problems? And what will the symptoms be if I don't have this thing put back on right?

Just for the record, I mean... 10-15 is spectacularly low, but these cars arent really known for their gas mileage...

I've had five Eclipses, including this one. My last was a Spyder GS-T. None of them sucked gas like this one. I feel like I'm driving a dump truck.

I'm def not expecting 30mpg, but these cars are very capable of 25 highway, I'd be happy with 20 at this point. Right now $10 in gas buys me enough to get to the gas station at the next red light.

Sebba,

I was so dissatisfied with the way it fit when I put it back on that I just took everything off and redid it. I've actually got a tighter fit now than it was originally. The filter practically fell off when I removed it toward the beginning of this thread to take pictures, now I can pull on it and it won't move. I've got it idling now, we'll see how it handles tomorrow when I drive to pick up my dad's Buick, which, sadly, gets better mpg than my Eclipse at the moment.

hm. yah that little nipple is suppose to connect to the intake via hose

but yah. i wouldn't think something like that would take away any mpg. but it might. so maybe it'll fix it? try it out.
