Default Head gasket r/p question

Ok, so I have this infamous head gasket leak on my '98 Eclipse with the Dodge 2.0 NA motor. For any of you that have repaired this did you have to do the water pump at the same time? Does it make sense to do it while you're in there? I am planning to do the timing belt. Thought that a new one might wear out the water pump bearing if I didn't cange it out. What do you guys think?

Yeah it would definitly be a good idea to replace the water pump and timing belt at the same time, preventitive maintinance is always a good thing.

If you've got the cash do them both, also while you're in there check out the condition of the valves and all of that. Have fun and good luck with that, hope you get it up and running soon.

Don't forget to re-torque that head after 500mi.

Then maybe it won't leak again eh ? DT
