Bum Starter

Bum Starter
Well it always happens when you are not ready to deal with the crap. First I thought low battery then that turned into cleaning and tightning all the battery connections still no JOY. I then jacked the front end up and did what I thought was the right thing and whacked the starter a few goog licks on the solonoid and presto it fired up all four times I found I could use a very long half inch socket extention and get between the heat shield and the front mount and whack away. So I was in front of the Post Office whacking away not whacking off and it would not go at all. We towed it to my wifes work and I ran to Advanced Discount Auto and they had one and I mean one (1) in the warehouse so I had it overnighted for an extra $16.00 the starter was $169.73 with the Florida sales tax. Bummer is I missed todays UPS and tomorrow is Friday so I may not see it until Monday. I could not begin to figure this part out a rebuilt one with a core charge was like $152.00 then the core charge of something like $45.00 but the new starter had no core and was only a couple of dollars more go figure.[8D]

RE: Bum Starter
Lets us know if that fixes it. I know that I dont buy starters anymore, I take mine to a electronics repair guy local which costs me about 1/3 the cost of a rebuilt starter. But the downside is it usually takes 4 to 5 days to get the part back.

RE: Bum Starter
Well I got the starter on Saturday and one hour later had the new one in and it fired right up. I took the down time and put my battery on the charger for a slow 2 AMP charge which is the right way to do it. I also found two stock rear rotors on Ebay New in the box for $40.00 plus shipping. Life is good once more drove all Saturday afternoon. Stopped long enough to see King Kong and that little rat bastard Jack Black, actually I like Jack P.S. Killer Flick
