Car dies when slowing down to turn please help
i have a 1998 3000gt base with 5 speed manual tranny....no performance upgrades i was having a problem getting it to start but just replaced battery the other day an now it starts an drives fine...the only problem is when i press the clutch in and shift down usually around 2nd gear to make a turn and sometimes wen i come to a stop sign or light the engine jus shuts off....it cranks back up perfectly everytime but its just a hassle wen ur turning and have to strong arm it in..lol...then recrank it....ive been thinking it must be a short or glitch in the wiring on either the clutch or gear shift but i have no clue.....if anyone has any information at all as to what it could be or wat i could try i would greatly appreciate it

RE: Car dies when slowing down to turn please help
I had the same problem my car will shut off and was real hard to turn. It happened when I replaced my battery. The terminals were touching the brackets holding down the battery it will stat back up when I will turn it back on, but they wre loose and were just switching side by side. So see if they are away from touching any metal objects. Im not saying that it but that sounds like my situation tha was going on. Well good luck.

The same thing happen to my 93 SL. Find your throttle position sensor next to the intake manifold and remove it (two bolts and wiring harness). Take it apart and spray some electrical parts cleaner on the components and let it sit for an hour.
That worked for me and it was much cheaper than replacing it.
