i bought a 93 vr-4 with every thing on it not sure about the all wheel steering though when i turn the ignition to the on position a lite pops on and says aws oil then goes off does that mean i have all wheel steering?

i thought the aws option was deleted in the 96 and above models. im pretty sure about this.

Nope. VR4's had AWS every single year, 91-99. active aero was deleted in 97+ models, ecs and active exhaust was deleted half way through 95 (3/S's with the power sunroof option did NOT have active exhaust/ecs, 3/S's with the removable glass roof DID have ecs/active exhaust). But ALL years had AWS, except for the 96 Stealth TT's, and possibly some 95 TT's... I'm not 100% on the 95's though.
