Default New tire suggestions

first time changing my 3kGT tire and i need some input or suggestions what would be the best tire in terms of performance versus pricing.

Pearl White 1997 3000GT Standard
Factory tire: P225/50R16

Can I use P245/40ZR18 or should I just stick with factory tire spec? Also, if I'm going for bigger rims, is there any stuff I need to consider such as suspension to balance ground clearance?

Thanks.

Default RE: New tire suggestions

I put a set of 18" ICW rims with a 235/40ZR18 tire and I have no problems what so ever. With the 18's and the tires that I have, the overall diameter of the new wheel is smaller. You can look at my car by going to the site on my signature and see what you think. I bought my new falken tires off ebay for $500 with free shipping. Sears wanted $290 a piece and did not offer a warranty, so screw sears.
