So how did you fix it and how much did it cost? I think I have the same exact problem.

I looked at a couple of the places mentioned on the Stealth316 website. I selected Foreign Auto Computer, I sent them the unit they checked it out, fixed it and sent it back all for around $200. My mechanic charged me an hour to screw around and make sure every thing was cool with the car after the computer came back. Seems to be running fine.

Is it hard to take the part out? What does it look like? Any ideas as to how I can determine if my ECU needs to be repaired, and how to know this is causing the problem?

How did you determine that's what the problem was? I dont feel like fixing the ECU for 200+, then come to find out that wasnt the reason for this problem.

it wasnt the feul for sure cus the fuel pump turns on and the injectors throw. and becuz the coils, cranksenor, computer wiring and all sensors were attached and active. just no spark was coming out of the coils.(they grabbed another workin coil and replace it with mine, and wen it didnt spark either, they put my old one back) and they cleaned out my injectors, and one other peice they replaced as well that showed no sign of activity either. so after ruling all other things out, the ecu is the only other module that is connected to all of them. and plus if it isnt the computer, the owner and manager at autozone are good friends so he said for me not to worry about an exchange if i have to. p.s. get a reliable mechanic before you start trusting him with your ride.
