Default sohc vs dohc

I am looking to buy a 3000GT. I found what I want, Red, Automatic,SL, leather seats, low miles, good price. Then I found out the engine was a Single Overhead Cam design. I know it's lower in Horse Power, but is it that bad?

My first choice was 1994~1996 (second Generation)
My second choice is Third Generation 1997~1999.

Can I get some advise from the pros here...

haha, yes... it IS that bad.lol

what do you want out of the car? and why not go for a manual? do you plan on modifying it AT all.? ? if so, you may want to reconsider and go manual instead of auto.

and auto SOHC is REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY THAT bad.lol

Thanks for the insite and reply.... I really really really apprecate it! I am not sure if I will do any mods to it, but we will see... ( I normally do mod my cars, trucks and ATVs').

Automatic because I had a hip replacement 10 years ago and pushing a clutch causes pain after awhile. Other than that I might opt for a manual trans.

Again, thanks for your insite. I will continue to look till I find the one that fits.

to add on to what isiah siad, I use to have an Base model or SOHC. No power, and when you are driving a car that looks the way the 3000gt looks you are goin want alittle power.

SLmodel's were all DOHC.

and only 97-99 3000GT's offered a SOHC option. if it's a 94-96 3000GT, it is DOHC.
