'08 Endeavor Obnoxious Ticking Noise
121k.. So there's this awfully annoying ticking noise coming from the passenger side of the engine bay, yet its not all the time. Most prominent during the cold weather (seems anything 50 and below) and once the truck itself warms up for anywhere from 5 seconds to a minute the noise is completely gone. Now that its warming up outside (60 and above) it starts up like a regular Endeavor should. Truck has no more than 650 miles on some fresh oil and using premium fuel. Engine light on for very small evap leak so maybe something is expanding causing noise to go away Was also told it may very well be the hydraulic tensioner leaking. Timing belt service is due soon, last done around 68k according to notes from last owner driver manual. Kind of at a stop with this one. Here's a video I recorded when it was maybe like 35 degress out, went away about 2-3 seconds after I stopped recording.

I would pull the front timing belt cover and make sure the belt is not loose..bad things can happen if it jumps, some like my 3000GT will relax overnight but as soon as the engine rotates it is or should be tight. If you want some links to Timing Belt OEM parts I found at a good price let me know, OEM water pump is made by Aisin, tensioner is NTN, Koyo Pulleys, MitsubOshi Timing Belts is very good or OEM Mitsubishi.
You can try the Lifter Cycle to flush lifters work well on some, warm up let idle then increase rpm slowly over 15 seconds from idle to 3K rpm then allow to idle 15 seconds repeat as many times as needed, flushes old oil and debre from lifters (lash adjusters).
