Default RPM /transmission issue?

The issue: On a cold engine/tranny at 70mph my RPM's read about 2450rpm, after a few miles it drops out to about 2200rpm. Ive set it on cruise and watched the gauge for when the drop happens and paid close attention to everything, traffic included haha, and its only noticeable by the gauge, no surging or anything. does anyone else have this issue? Transmission slipping, cruise control issue, come other controls? I have no clue so any place to start would help, besides "dont look at the gauge til she's warmed up"
Note, when warmed up or "cool", the RPM's are always at 2300 at 70mph......its just after its sat for the night.

accessories etc?
there's obviously some other load on the engine (probably alternator, so electrical) that requires the higher RPMs.

Ive had the Endeavor since April and since I'm in southern louisiana, I have always driven it with the AC on. I'll try it with the AC off in the next couple days and see what it does.

Nope, that didnt work. Noticed today that it now runs a little higher in rpms at first, but then drops down to where it always does

itll be a thermostat/ sensor then, and probably normal.
