Water leak while A/C is on

fullecm,
You are going about it wrong. You have to drill the hole in the lower side of the box 1st on the drivers side. Then put some 1/4 O.D. refrigerator tube through the hole you drilled in the box, then thru the drain tube, then feed it thru the hole in the firewall reinforcement. Then use that as a guide for your 90degree tube. You wont need a lift if you are doing it correctly.
email me at that email in my last post on page 9 and I can help you out. I am pretty handy with cars and stuff but it isnt hard to do this if you are doing it right. It is just tedious and takes about 3 hrs to complete beginning to end. Maybe less

I had the same problem until today - here is the solution --
-- open the driver's door
-- locate where the air conditioner blower box is attached to the passenger side of the firewall – look to the immediate right at the top of the gas pedal arm
-- condensation flows toward the front of the vehicle through the firewall at the leftmost edge of the air conditioner blower box - see photo #1
-- open the hood and stand next to the front wheel on the driver's side
-- look down at the firewall over the battery and to the passenger side of the brake master cylinder
-- locate the small diameter metal tubes running horizontally and attached to the engine compartment firewall
-- locate the hole in the engine compartment firewall panel behind the small diameter metal tubes - see photo #2
-- this hole leads to the drain opening in the air conditioner blower box mounted in the passenger compartment
-- follow the brake tubes as they run from under the vehicle and turn toward the front wheel on the driver's side
-- locate the hole in the engine compartment panel behind the brake tubes
-- insert a short length of stiff wire into the hole through the engine compartment panel to unblock the drain hole

Discovered same problem with my 2004 Endeavor in October of 2012. Had extended warrantee and it cost $1,017 to repair. Pulled out my mats to clean them last week and noticed same water problem. I had 72,000 miles when I repair was done by Mitsubishi and had 83,000 miles when I discovered issue again. Mitsubishi said their warrantee was for only a year. Since they did the original repair my auto air hasn't work properly. I will try DRIVERS fix. I can'r see spending another $1,000. Obviously the problem only happens in the summer.
