thanks for the link emonz, hey I have been emailing ams back and forth the last couple of days, it looks like im gonna go there to get my tune and other stuff done, they seem really good and they respond very very quick, i sent an email to them and 10 mins later I had a reply back. Only problem they dont have any sound clips of thier exhaust setups, and I dont want to spend a ton of money for it to sound like crap. I got a question about my car though, why is it that when I look up for parts for an 05 evo especially the exhaust I cant find anything?? I went to hks and seen this setup i liked http://www.hksusa.com/info/media.asp?id=1764 but it says only 2003-04, whats different about my car that there is no parts???

AMS is one of the best there are. they have a 900+ HP EVO with a 2.3L motor and a 800+HP 2.0L EVO both running nearly 8 sec 1\4s

The 05 is listed seperate because some require a different Down pipe to fit maily because the 05s introduced the MR edition which has a 6 spd which is bigger so the clearence is difference under the car. I am pretty sure it will fit yours since you dont have an MR

For reference here is the AMS EVOs

do you think that hks is a good exhaust??? I thought it was perfect, no too loud but not quiet like stock either, what do think of it??, Yeah those ams cars are freakin fast, if thats what thier exhaust sounds like then I can tell you I wont like it, I dont need to attract everybodys attention everytime i gun it. Now I can beat the crap out the car everywhere i go and since its kinda quiet it doesnt turn everyones heads, but with that its way too loud, plus it doest have too much good tone to it, kinda like a really loud higher sound. whats your opinion on the exhaust.

i also got another quick question emonz, if i were to get that hks exhaust, is it ok to drive the car for a while untuned?? what would happen without a tune with the new exhaust? popping?? backfiring? too rich? to lean??

Well the AMS exhaust wont sound like that on your car. that is there exhaust except it is full 4 in or maybe 5 in exhaust if you bought one you would get 3inch plus there cars are such high Horsepower there cars kind of sound like crap. at a normal HP that exhaust would sound good. What you hear from there cars making them loud and raspy is there wastegate it is external and dumps to the atmosphere.

The HKS exhaust it good but expensive. not sure if you noticed the price on them. A TBE exhaust is almost always going to cost you $~1100 I got megan because theres was only $550 they are one of the cheapest, it is loud but sounds awsome personally if you heard mine you would like it. I got a few evos in town and one of them sounds like a honda I think he said he has helix exhaust on it.

Oh and to answer the question about the exhaust with out a tune, Yes you can run it without a tune But you will be losing HP you could easily have by a tune. YOur car runs really rediculously rich stock adding exhaust makes it more rich so a tune will lean that out and you will add power as long as the tune is at the right AFR. Without a tune your car may hit fuel cut in 3rd gear and up if you floor and it is cold out because adding a full turbo back will act a little like a boost controller youmay see a few more PSI than normal but no worries. If you hit fuel cut you will think your car blew up it feels like it breaks something but then right after it is fine again it is just a fail safe and our cars from the factory are extra extra safe Hense the easy fuel cut and very rich tune. After a tune they will move your fuel cut so it is a higher tolerance so it will be triggered when the car is actually running to much for your fuel system to handle so it will still be there and do its job but it just wont be at like 21PSI in the cold weather like my car lol
