Default 2000 stalled now won't start

2000 2.4, My service engine light was on. I took it to autozone. Code was a 0302. I changed spark plugs and 2 of the wires. I believe it's number 4 plug was 3 inches deep in oil. I drove to work (15 mi). On the way home it died at a stop sign about 4 blocks from home and now won't start. Could it be the coil pack from the number 4 soaked in oil.

Its possible, if you found one spark plug covered in oil you have worn piston rings or valve guides and this would certainly cause a misfire causing the car to run rough and hard starting, it would also be easier to stall, however I wouldn't expect it not to start at all.

Probably a seperate issue but the oil problem needs fixing either way.

Thanks for the info. I took the timing belt cover off and found the belt is loose. i don't think it is broke because i can't pull it off.

I had the same problem my plugs covered in oil....I had the idea it could be the gasket around the valve cover, where the plug goes through...or the valve cover may need to be tightened.

They shouldn't need tightening, its probably wear. You will need replacement parts. Take it to a garage and have them check it out because while the plug is covered in oil it will be misfiring and wasting fuel.
