98 galant crank pulley

RE: 98 galant crank pulley
I found a picture of the parts and realized the center bolt needs not be touched to remove the pulley. Just the four M8 bolts. But the space is so tight I don't know how to do it without removing the center bolt. Do you lower the engine to remove it? Advice is appreciated.

I took off the mud shield to get better access to the bolts on my '92 expo 4G64. Get that out of the way so you can see what your doing. Use a deep well socket on the pulley bolts. It worked on the expo, Galant might be different, I'm not familiar with those. Good luck

RE: 98 galant crank pulley
Got back from two weeks vacation. The crank pulley was waiting in Autozone to be picked up. I removed the driver side engine mount hoping to lower the engine (with wood blocks under the sump to support it). But the engine does not lower. The AC compressorwas stuck on the frame prventing the engine from getting any lower. In the end I didn't know or think it was necessary to remove the engine mount. Using a punch I had to knock the broken crank pulley off. Instalation was stright forward.
