He everyone I have a question if you can help me out. Can you tell me what would cause this loud squealing noise when I turn on my hearter or rare defrost. It last for about 2 minutes on and off. Is this a belt issue or something else. If its the belt is it expensive to get fix? [/align]

 

tighten your alternator belt to begin with.

 

wait so the belt only squeals when u turn the heater and defroster on?

 

that would mean a huge electrical load from the alternator, hence the squealing alternator belt.

 

I 2nd this. Most likely, alt belt is a bit loose. When electrical load is increased, it affects the alt tesulting in to the squealing.

 

i was just clarifying what he was tryin to tell us...

 

I have the same issue and the belt is pretty tight. could the alternator bearings be bad and when there's a load it makes it squeak?
