depends if its a cable or a lectric.
Lectric has a wire and sender for you to find and check, cable, follow it out the firewall into the gearbox, unscrew it, chuck it in a drill and see if your dash comes up. If no, its dash end or cable. If yes, its worm thread in gearbox.
