O.K I am about to buy a 2003 2.4 galant. And I have a quick but important question. When the car is in park & neutral it sounds fine but when I put it in drive or reverse it starts to make a little whining noise thats not loud enough to hear over the stock radio on volume #10. The whining noise grows with the engines rpm. But only when driving.
Since I had it the last two days I have noticed that the 2nd to 3rd shift is sometimes(i'd say 50% of the time) harder than the other's. Have anyone heard or seen something like this, and if so is it an expensive fix or simple, like a flush. I love this car and just don't wanna make a regretful purchase. Thanks.

 

mine does the samething, 99 LS 3.0, never had any problems w/ it.

 

Its normal thats why lol
