I disagree with almost everything you said, Ps3alltheway.

Those that say the GTS suspension sucks are just pussies. It is stiffer for a reason, but it isn't bad at all. In order to see for yourself, just test drive both and you will see exactly what I mean.

As for the fuel mileage, that is ONLY with the CVT. The manual trans is very different.

The tires, well you have a point there. They will be a little more expensive, but not that bad. Just don't be a dick and roast the tires, and they will be fine.

 

The Mazda are actually made by Ford or the engine.

MAZDA is no longer Japanese it is really American in nature.

Mazda3 will ba phase out soon. they will stop making those cars. What I hate about the the Mazda is the way it look. It looks nice because of the Alteeza lights, Top Gear has a name for it.

The Lancer Sportback will be selling in North America soon

 

If you get the GT you lose out on the 2.4L Engine though.

I have a manual GTS, on the streets I get low 20s for mpg. hwy I get low 30s If I drive around 55-65. going faster than that I still get high 20s on the hwy.

I do like the suspension, first day I owned my GTS I took it up some mountains here, lots of curves and cliffs. Loved the way it handled around the curves at high speeds.

 

im headings more and more towards the lancer , but one thing bothers me is the interior , it looks plain and cheap .. argh gonna test drive soon

 

The Mazda3 is NOT made by Ford. The Mazda3 uses some chassis/frame components made by Ford, but in no way shape or form is it related. When Mazda gets it, they stiffen and reinforce it. They also use Ford components in things like engine mounts, but the Engine itself is not designed by Ford. Also, the Mazda3 WILL NOT be phased out. Where did you get such information?

Well, the interior is cheap because it is a cheap car. I guess that's something you will have to live with.

Bottom line, test drive them!!!
