On my 2008 Lancer the Service Airbag light came on today....i'm guessing I have to take it to the dealer? [:@][/align][/align]14,000 miles on it....anyone know what it could be? It wasn't the dummy light, it came up on the screen.[/align][/align][/align]

 

Shouldn't it be under warranty?

 

Did you touch your Steering Wheel?
Did you had a fight with yourwife or girlfriend and you PUNCHED THE Steering wheel with your fist?

if Yes, you might have broke the airbag sensor inside the steering wheel mount or look behind the steering wheel there is small gap between the wiper switch and steering column. there is switch there look if it's stillconnected to the steering or open the cover under the steering column.

check the wirings?

My car is 2008 Lancer with 40,000 miles with no problems. knock on woood

 

Hey its under warranty dont worry abt it. Take it to the dealer and let them mess w/ it.

 

Yes better take it to the dealer..sad to say that.

they will replace you entire steering wheel.

Make sure they will NOT brake the PLUG INSIDE the steering wheel that connects to the mother housing of the steering wheel. if you open the cover underneath the steering that's theone I talking about.
