My Mirage '99 is acting weird. Whenever I stop (for example, after a red light) the car, it takes a long time to accelerate, and it sort of "bumps" as it's doing it, and sometimes it turns off right when I start accelerating from a stop sign. Once it picks up speed, it does not turn off but it seems to be limited as to the speed it can attain, for example, cannot go over 60 m/hr on the freeway, but at least it does not turn off in the freeway. Once I stop again, the same problem arises. As a sidenote, I just changed the battery yesterday as it was not turning on, but I don't think that's the problem since I had the battery checked and it was completely dead, so I had to buy another one. I am not sure whether this had anything to do with the car doing this now, but I don't think so. Any tips? Help? What could this be? I really appreciate your help!

 

Have you changed your fuel filter? It could be restricting flow.Bad fuel pump, regulator? When were the spark plugs last changed? Just some ideas.
