2000 Mirage DE Coupe 1.5l 5 speed

I just bought this car about a week ago. My problem is that when i turn on the headlights the high and low beams come on. Flicking the dimmer switch doesnt always turn the high beams off. When I try to turn the high beams off the high beam indicator light doesnt go off but it does get a slight bit dimmer.

This is an intermittent problem so i dont think it could be a relay issue.

I checked all the fuses and cleaned/re-lubed the dimmer switch.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply. Since posting this i have replaced the relay and dimmer switch. Neither fixed the problem. I hace no idea what else could cause this.
