Default 02 Montero brake pedal sticks...

So, I bought the Montero Limited used. Ever since I bought the vehicle, the brake pedal sticks a bit after braking. The pedal will remain down for about 2 seconds before releasing and allowing the vehicle to move. Any ideas what to look for for a cause? I am a Chevy man, but I understand the components, if you could explain what to look for. Thanks

I have the same issue with my wifes Montero. First off, brakes do work fine. It is just after seating at the light, they wont release sometimes. I just make another pump and off they go.

I have a suspicion that it is due to dirt and old brake fluid. I will be changing pads in a week or two and will do a full brake fluid swap. Will see what happens.

Looking at the date of your post, You most likely have found a solution already care to share it.

No, I have not found a solution as of yet. If changing the fluids helps, please let me know.
