Default 1990 Monty Engine Dead - What to put in it???

Alright so I bought a project monty the other day, in hopes that the engine would last a little longer til i could afford a good swap. I think it's time is already up, unfortunately. So you know what that means...what to put in it?

I want something that will bolt right in, but I'm considering other ideas. But money is an issue... I wanted to put a 4bt cummins in it but certainly won't have that kind of money. I'm thinking I can just put another 3.0 V6 in it like it had...but I'm wondering what other vehicles have that engine? I ask because nobody around here has a used engine I can swap in it from this year montero.

Anyone know how long they used that same engine? Is it in models past 1991?? I don't know how else to find one besides ordering online...

Anyone with any ideas on anything about this would be great. I don't have a ton of money to play with.

Thanks!!

if its 4x4 you need wide block engines, 2x4, narrow block.

Any of 4g, 4d, 6g engines will fit with minimal fuss.

It's about shot. I bought it knowing it because it was a good deal. The guy before me ran it out of oil several times and it's lost most power and has 211k miles anyways. i figured it would be smarter to just slap a replacement in instead of pay somebody to rebuilt one that's already been practically destroyed. It still runs, but not very well.
