Hey everyone im new to the site and I need help with my
2001 Montero Limited (big body)
I picked up this montero from a family member that had it
sitting for a while. I gave it a full service A to Z and drove it around
for a while and it has 160,000 miles. It started getting cold and I wanted to
make sure my 4wd worked so I switched the lever from 2 wd to 4wd and it engaged and all 4 lights lit up in the display but then I put it in 4wd Hi and Lo
and tried driving then it started slapping and grinding noise and that C/D lock amber light started blinking and never turned off after that day. Now the its stuck in im guessing 4wd hi and you can barely make a uturn because the wheels start chirping and slipping up and its stuck in low gears so I can do more then about 30mph. Please I need help ASAP Im a DIYer and I do most of my own work. I already changed the free wheel sensor behind the airbox and it didnt work and I might have mixed up the vaccum lines, does anyone have any pictures for me? NEED HELP ASAP PLZZ
