Here is what is going on. My mom was driving her Montero. All of a sudden she heard a pop and or bang and then lost power. She thought she blew a tire. I guess it was a pop whoosh. When she got out the tires were fine she thougth she smelled gas. When the tow truck got there he thought he smelled burnt rubber and gas. Then there was some liquid on the ground.

At home i cant get it to turn over but i hear the electrical working. Im thinking it might be the fuel filter, fuel pump or starter. I hear it clicking and trying but just wont turn over.

About two weeks ago she got her oil changed and they talked her into a fuel service thing including a fuel filter change.

any ideas?
