Default Bad Carburetor

My '89 Montero has recently been stalling no matter what gear I've been in or if I have the clutch in. We've taken it to a Mitsubishi dealer where it was for 2 weeks before they determined the carburetor was bad. They told me my options were to rebuild it or get a new one. Not sure where to go from here. Need some opinions. Thanks!

Working with carburetors is getting more and more tricky (they are getting more rare). I would only do a rebuild through a shop that specializes in rebuilding the carbs or if the mechanic who is offering to do it is 50+ years old. Those are the only people who know what they are doing with the rebuild Many younger mechanics do not have any experience with the carburetor besides a lawnmower at home.
