Angry Blown fuses

I have a 2000 Montero Sport. I've recently replaced the alternator, the battery, cleaned out the throttle body (had some pollution control issues). Somewhere in the midst of all this, I've ended up with what I believe is a short. After getting it running/idling correctly, I now have two fuses that blow as soon as I insert a new one. Both are 10A fuses, one is in the engine compartment (#1: Dome Light) and the other is in the passenger compartment (#4: Blower Motor). As I said, these both blow as soon as a connection is made. Are these on the same circuit/similar circuits? Anyone else ever encountered this problem or have any suggestions. Of course, if there's another thread out there about this and I can't find it, please point me in the right direction. Much obliged for any assistance I can get. Battery and charging system have been checked and rechecked and bench tested, etc.

I'd start by trace/check all the wires along the path where work was done.
And use the electrical systems diagram in your FSM.
