Problem with alarm in Mitsubishi Montero Sport
Hello. I would appreciate if more experienced users will help me with my problem.
Last night it was freezing outside, around 22F. Suddenly I heard alarm of my Mitsibushi Montero Sport. Since there was no reason to believe in theft I did try all means to stop alarm. I succeeded it only after disconnecting the fuses from battery. Now as soon as I try to connect fused to battery the alarm goes on. What can I do?
Thanks

My mms is a '99 and without knowing your year I'm not sure...but
N8--->
- put the fuse back in.....the alarm will begin sounding
- get in the car and close the door (not necessary to close the door but I do it)
- put your key into the ignition
- locate the 'red' flashing light on the left side of the steering wheel/column on the dash board.
- turn the key to the 'acc.' position (don't try to start it just to the acc pos.)
- while the ignition is on acc. press the red button/light and release. (the alarm should stop but the light will continue to blink
- Turn the key off and remove them
- Put the keys back in and start as usual.

Sounds like water got into the relay that controls the alarm. At least your alarm works, mine when on vacation for 8 months then just decided to return and start working again the other day. I wish my headliner light would get back from vacation as well............
