Question about Keyless Entry

First off let me introduce myself, My name is Rob and I have recently purchased a 2000 Montero Sport LS for a steal. It has 149k miles and runs really good for now. Not sure what the life of these engines are. Came from a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport that had 230k miles on it. Loved the Cherokee but needed something a little more grown up. LOL.

So here is my question:

I only got one key. I wanted to know if there is a way to tell if it is equipped with the keyless system, for I want to order a remote if it does.

Hey Rob and welcome.

Can you have a dealership run the VIN to see what the vehicle came with.

Just a thought.

That is one option... I may just do that. Wanted to see if I can look under the dash and see if I could tell that way. But that is a fine option.
