Default replacing oil pump

2003 Montero Sport xls 3.5 4WD

Hi, I am having oil pressure problems. When in Idle at a light the oil light flickers and vehicle jerks but goes back to normal when I pull off. It does not do it every time I stop just randomly. I've been searching around and mostly found that it could be do to oil pressure

I plan to replace the oil pressure switch tomorrow but if that does not work I want to replace the oil pump. Can I get to the oil pump by just dropping the oil Pan?

And Has anyone else ran into this problem? Ive searched this forum but didnt find anything.

Test the oil pressure switch but more importantly test the oil pressure itself. If your oil pressure is low - do not drive the vehicle until you replace the oil pump. Otherwise you'll end up with a lot more expensive repairs.
