Yes, now I can change timing belt in my sleep :-)
Just wish I had the newer model of 6G72 when you dont have to remove the a/c compressor. So much easier. :-)

Hello Ronny,
It sounds to me that you should lap your valves if your getting that much carbon inside your intake. You must have a valve leaking... how many miles and when was the last valve job done...Mitch

With rockauto a SET doesn't you get the whole SET. Just so yas know....
Also with Mitsu. parts it seems that everytime I buy a power steering tentioner pulley they ALL seem to be work. A bearing shouldn't move back n forth when new. I got a couple from them and one from the junkyard and the one from the junkyard has no play and works like new...Just venting here...Mitch

Hi, My car has 270.500 km on the milage.
Its probably the first time someone took the plenum off and cleaned it.
So I think its just the km and many lack off service from previous owner that coused it.

I looked at those websites, but I live in Sweden so the custom duty will be to expensive.
I´m buying everything from Ebay UK. Good prices to :-)

What goes around, comes around..
Just bought a -98 Pajero Classic last night, and the previous owner couldn't get it to run.
So I just think to my self, maybe its the same problem agin?.
And when I took of the crankshaft gear it was just the same agin :-):-):-)

Ronny, do you have any pictures of what it looked or looks like down where you are talking about? And what was the issue you had to overcome in removing the crankshaft timing belt sprocket? Just curious in case I have to deal with this in the future. Thanks.

Hi,
I got some photos, I´ll hope it will be seen here.

You could see on the pictures that the splines is gone in the gear.
And the wedge is badly torned.
And the spacer behind the senorplate is broken, so it all can move and scratch the crankshaft sensor. The pins that holds the plate and the spacer to the gear is also gone. So the plate won't spin.

The issues was this,
On my -97 it was that I couldn't get i to run properly. Just wouldn't revs up and got very hot.
The combustion took place in the manifold instead of the cylinder.
So I figured it has to be a ignition problem.

And my other car, -98 the previous owner just going to the store and it just wouldn't start.
So I thought that this time I should start by checking the camshaft sprocket.
:-)
