Default 07+ Front Brake Pad Pricing?

I ask my dealer how much would be only front brake pads for my 07 Outlander. He said it would be $114 dollars CND plus tax. I walked away because that sounds a lot of just front brake pads. I didn't have time contacting others dealer, but I will soon.

Do they really go for that much?
If anyone got one from their dealer, US or CND, how much was it for yourself?

Thanks

It seems that the OEM front brake pads are Akebono brand and model number ACT866. RockAuto has them for $50 USD.

I think as long as you get ceramics and a decent brand, you'll be good.

When the told you the priced, did they mention anything about work being done with the rotors? My local parts store has them for $73. So if they are charging $115, they are probably doing nothing but the front pads. When I've done brakes, I've always had the rotors turned, which is like 15 or 20 bucks a pop.

The are charging 115 dollars just for the pads. No installation at all.
I'm changing the pads myself, therefore no need to bring it to them.

I call other dealerships, they are all asking for around $110 CND..
Mitsubishi parts are expensive!

When you say rotors turned, what do you mean. Re-finishing them?
To me, re-finishing rotors are waste of money, because after a drive, they are back to the same...I will keep driving my rotor till is bad, then just replace it, rather then keeping it and re-finishing them every 10,000 kms.

yeah, that's what I meant. the last brake job I did (horrible horrible Grand Am), I didn't get them turned, I just took sandpaper to them to take the glaze off. If there are no grooves dug into the rotor, then you should be good to go. If there are grooves, I'm sure it'd work, but the new pads would have to wear into the shape of the rotor.

After some looking, I guess Akebono may not be the OEM pad brand...maybe call them up and ask about the OEM pads. When mine are ready, I'll probably put some Wagner Ceramics on it.

I'm in NY. I paid $85.00 USD for both front and rear genuine mitsubishi parts.
