Hey y'all. I've been scouring (And I mean SCOURING) the web to find some cross bars that fit a 2003 Outlander, and haven't found a thing. It looks like the Yakima X towers fit, but I have no confirmation.

I want to put a roof basket on my Outlander, but need some towers and bars first. Anybody know of compatable ones?

I had the same problem for my 2005 Outlander XLS, I ended up making my own, not sure if I can explain what I did, but here goes.
I purchased 2 lengths of metal shelve supports from Home Depot, u shaped squared off (about an 1" or more wide), with holes the full length, I then cut them to the length I required, the front being longer than the back, I then purchased 4 U bolts used on exhaust system that would fit around the original roof rack, and put some gas line rubber hose around them to stop slipping, then connected the shelving to the roof rack using the U bolts, works really well and looks good.

I had a hell of a time as well- finally got some cross bars that kind fit, and bolted them down like BrianB. U-bolts and rubber for anti-skid.

It seems like X-Terra's have cross bars that look like the right size for those large rails on our Outty. I saw another newer vehicle, looked like GM SUV but can't recall the name, that used similar ones.

I'd like a roof basket too- primarily for trips so I can mount a full size spare. I was 5 hours from home with a flat and stuck overnight with that useless small spare. Never again.
