2010 Outlander - ipod via usb - device authentication error
Hi,
New member here.. quick intro before my actual question. Just purchased a 2010 Outlander XLS with Nav package... Love the vehicle. Traded in a 97 Montero Sport for it.
I tried connecting a friend's ipod (believe its 5th gen) to my outlander via the USB and it worked seamlessly - No issues there. Used it for a day.
He had a spare ipod (older version - probably 4th gen??) that he offered me. I tried connecting that the next day and I get an error "Device authentication error" on the MMCS when I select USB/Ipod as input. On the ipod, it does show that its charging.
I searched and couldn't find anything. Do you guys know if older ipods are suppose to work? We checked the ipod firmware/sw and its up to date. So no clues on the issue.
2nd question.
Can I rip music from ipod to save it on the Music Server or is it only from CDs?
Any help is appreciated.
