So I believe I have the xls trim based on the v6 engine (bought a used car didn't ask too many questions as it was from a family friend and a great deal). I have a couple issues, I had a DC error which I fixed by pulling and replacing 2 fuses (seemed to reset the radio). However I notice that 1. The time is not changing in the car whatever I set it to it remains at. 2. Nothing comes from the voice prompt on the steering wheel - how do I find out if this car has Bluetooth or if theres some other issue? 2b) I popped the lights inside to look under and did not see what looked to be spare wiring for mic (nor a mic at all based on a 2008 Bluetooth module installation video).

any thoughts? Sorry for the above being so jumbled couldn't think of a better way to word it.

 

I have no real answers, but after being unsatisfied with stereo and bluetooth functionality in general in my Outlander, I've replaced BT module and stereo with aftermarket one. OEM bt/stereo is just a bad product and Mitsu never releases any firmware updates.

 

Was it an aftermarket regular one or did it include android auto etc?

 

I was not interested in Android head (although there are plenty of models available!), it was a regular 1din radio Alpine UTE-92BT, see my post. The BT works perfectly, sound quality is great.
In fact, instead OEM 2din, I've 1din radio/bt/mp3 player and 1din-sized pocket for storage or communication unit.

 

Agree definitely go with an aftermarket unit for the bluetooth function. Some OEM bluetooth units are known to go bad and cause a battery drain issue so might be a good idea disconnect the box behind the stereo.
