Default 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Steering Column Rattle

Hello,

I just purchased my car a few months ago used, and my steering column seems to be rattling whenever I am moving. If I push down on my steering wheel, the noise goes away.

Any thoughts, similar problems?

Thank you

Can you elaborate where the rattling seems to be coming from? is it coming from the steering wheel? The engine bay?
I had a rattle on a Ranger that I could have sworn was coming from the intermediary link between steering wheel to the rack & pinion. Turned out to be a loose shock in the front.

If this is happening in the summer time, my first guess is that your CV shafts are going out. if you hear the same in the winter, could be that the grease has solidified too much.

feels and sounds like its coming from right behind the steering wheel... I know what CV shafts would sound like... not that loud and WAY to close to me to be that...
