Default 2011 Outlander Bluetooth Question

Hello All, I'm BRAND NEW here but I found this on google looking for an answer to a bluetooth question. Maybe you guys will know. I bought a 2011 Outlander ES. It has the bluetooth controls on the steering wheel but they do not do anything. I was playing around with the radio and noticed it says Phone on one of the menus. Do you have to turn on bluetooth or does mine just not have it and they included the buttons on the steering wheel by accident? I'm hoping t has it.

Same issue when I bought mine. I believe some of the wires go bad in the clock spring behind the steering wheel so the bluetooth buttons don't respond. You can also check if the bluetooth module behind the stereo is still connected as they tend to go bad and drain the battery. Its possible the previous owner disconnected it for this reason. I ended up getting an aftermarket stereo anyways so I never replaced the clock spring and left the module unplugged as a precaution.
