Default 2014 Outlander recall

Anyone had a recall notice yet for Outlander 2014 handbrake cable, I was informed at the dealers that there is on in the pipeline, apparently they have had corrosion problems in Ontario Canada so all 2014's are being recalled when parts become available.

I just got mine. It also said, if you have already replaced parts for this problem they will reimburse you. Now, to see if they have the parts.....

I've had the recall performed. They had to replace both rear calipers entirely. Back in March our hand brake stopped working as a result of this corrosion. took them only a couple of hours. Interested to see long these will last. My understanding is the parts supply is still pretty limited for these calipers.

And also, guessing BC doesn't have as many sticking hand brakes, compared to Ontario/Quebec.

Default Handbrake/Parkingbrake Recall

I just had the handbrake recall service completed on my 2014 Outlander. It looks like they replaced the calipers. I was told the service can take from 1 to 4 hours but mine was completed in about 1-1/2 hrs.
End result? I hope I can finally used my parking brake again. It feels okay but let's just hope it fully releases.

Default Recall

I was in touch with Mitsubishi Canada because of the delay, this is their reply

We would like to apologize for the inconvenience. Please be advise the rear
parking brake recall has been a global one plus the parts is coming from
Japan. As per our last ETA it shows that the parts should arrive in Canada by
the end of July 2018 the latest. Once the dealership received delivery they will be in touch with you for the repairs.
