I still cant make the mic work, hoping you have better luck than I am.

i will just buy a DAB/DAB+ antenna with fakra connection to make it simple.

please tell me if you were able to make your mic work. Thanks.
Hi did you modify the existing USB cable in your vehicle for CarPlay or one that came with the SDA? I'm in the process of reading up on how to get the SDA in my 2016 5H.

Thanks in advance

Exclamation No HFM?

Hey guys,
New member here from Australia. I was just installing the SDA unit in my 2014 ASX which had the MMCS in it. Needless to say, I needed help making the mic work. However, going through these forums and tons of wiring pinouts, I realised the wires I need are meant to be out of the HFM and quite conveniently, it turns out my asx has no HFM. Is that even possible? Considering the bluetooth hands free has been working fine but all I got is a 20 pin and an 18 pin connector. Thanks!

UPDATE: Sorry, I do infact have the HFM, turns out in the ASX it is actually hidden a bit lower behind the aircon controls so I couldnt see it earlier. All sorted now. I have a fully operational SDA unit. Yay!

I can confirm that these cables work, I used it with an iPhone 12 pro amd used Apple Car Play and it worked on both cables.

Default Great Video - one question

Mrjono,

What a great video, I'm just starting the swap from an MMCS to an SDA in a 2014 Outlander PHEV.

One question, what did you use to get the 3 pins out of the connector on the HFU so that you could reuse them. I've seen these connectors before where you use a tool to depress the latch on each pin so that you can pull the connector out but I've been unsuccessful so far.

Other than that, great help and many thanks for taking the time to post the video.

Cheers
Dave

Default Steering wheel tuner controls

I have just done this conversion. I have a problem that the my tuner steering wheel controls searches for channels, rather than going to the next programmed channel. Is anyone able to sort that out?

I recently completed the swap on a 2017MY outlander, although it had the hands free module the existing MMCS unit had the grey mic plug so I didn’t have to re-wire it.

I did however order the grey mic plug in preparation, if anyone needs one rather than using hot glue this is the correct plug.

The gps antenna (grey plug) can be made to fit without pulling it apart by simply removing the ridge on the top right of the plug.

I also used the following adaptor to plug the existing usb socket into the SDA. The pins needed moving round but that wasn’t hard.

if your ordering the adaptor then a DAB extension can be purchased from the same seller for much less than Amazon.

Hopefully these links help anyone else wanting to move from the MMCS to SDA.
