Default Aftermarket CAI or Short Ram intake?

I was expecting to see more of my fellow outlander owners with intake mods...anyone have one? I'd rather spend a little more to get a higher flowing filter assembly than just dropping in a K&N filter.

If you have one, can you post up pics?

K&N Filter 33-2392 was easy mod.

Do these actually provide any noticeable difference in terms of HP or gas mileage?

Anyone have pics of it installed? Any bump in HP/sound?

I think this has been a discussion in the pass, and the main veredict was that the car has a CAI, you have the air entrence in down in the bumper. the thing is to have a nice filter that lets the cold air pass through it.

well thats my opinion.

The air entrance is not exactly behind the bumper.. It is behind the grill. At the top of the grill. Looking at the stock setup, it looks quite restricted. Air has to flow thru the grill, through a series of slits, make a few turns in the narrow chamber before being fed into the air intake duct proper.

Exactly! The only bad thing (for some) about short ram intakes, is that they can be significantly louder than OEM. You get rid of the factory noise suppression.

On my Infiniti G35, the short ram sounds great...not sure if the Outie would.
