Default Air Filters

I was browsing air filters for my Outlander and saw choices that ranged wildly by price. Can anyone tell me if the "cheap" ones are bad or OK? Any reason to get Mitsubishi OEM for the engine air filter?

Cabin Air Filters

Mann Hummel: $7
Fram and Driveworks: $17
Purolator: $20
Beck Arnley: $30

Panel Air Filters (I presume for engine air intake?)

Beck/Arnley: $15
Purolator: $19
K&N: $50

Thanks for your help!

K&N air filter is washable/reuseable.

As far as the cabin filter goes, I think it's personal preference. The more expensive might have some baking soda to absorb odors. A few shakes of it on the cheaper one and wa-la.

But then I go back to my wrenching days and there was no cabin air filter.

caution on K&Ns - they need filter oil to function anywhere near a paper cartridge filter. (~98%)

used mainly on offroads and motorbikes, because **** gets washed after every hoon anyway.

asides from that, beggared if i know, i use generic paper cartridge types.

Thanks everyone for your help. I ended up getting Purolator ones for both cabin and panel. As luck would have it, Advance Auto gave me a gift code for $25 off a $50 purchase, so I added in a wiper blade to get to the required purchase quantity.
