Has anyone done a timing belt on a 2007+ v6 outlander???

Any special tools i'll need??

Do i have to take off the right engine mount??

Any gripes about doing it, how long did it take you?

Yes, i did do a search, found nothing related to my specific questions. Just threads on not being an inteference engine and whether or not to do a change at 60k miles.

 

I believe you can go 105,000 miles on these V-6 on a belt change ! be prepared to spend around $1000.00 on a complete job, a lot of people say the complete job can wait till the 2nd belt change>

 

My car 108k miles on it. I'll be doing the full service with all new pulleys but keep the factory tension unit. I'll also replace the 2 drive belt pullies. Total cost is around $400 for all pen parts. Labor is free :-)

 

Lots of luck ! not a fun job, be shure to double check all belt marks twice before starting it up ! close is not good enough !!!

 

You should roll the motor over to TDC a time or two by hand and re check the timing marks, very easy to be a tooth off !!
